An Allegiant Air Airbus A320-200, registration N257NV performing flight G4-693 from Phoenix Mesa,AZ to Des Moines,IA (USA), was climbing out of Mesa Airport's runway 30C when the aircraft sustained multiple bird strikes. The aircraft stopped the climb at 6000 feet and returned to Mesa Airport for a safe landing on runway 30L about 12 minutes after departure.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT REPORTED MULTIPLE BIRD STRIKES ON ROTATION. AIRCRAFT RETURNED AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED DAMAGE TO BOTH ENGINES."

The aircraft remained on the ground in Phoenix for about 46 hours before returning to service.
