An ANA All Nippon Airways Airbus A320-200N, registration JA217A performing flight NH-395 from Tokyo Haneda to Shonai (Japan) with 119 people on board, had gone around on approach to Shonai's runway 27 due to weather (strong winds and rain), climbed back to 4000 feet, prepared for a second approach to runway 27. On final approach about 6nm before the runway threshold the aircraft received a lightning strike onto its nose but continued for a safe landing about 20 minutes after the go around.

A post flight inspection revealed damage including burns and discolourations to the aircraft nose as well as wings.

The aircraft remained on the ground for 30 hours, then positioned to Haneda and is still on the ground in Haneda about 37 hours after landing in Shonai.
