An ANZ Air New Zealand Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration ZK-MVE performing flight
NZ-5704 from Invercargill to Christchurch (New Zealand), was climbing out of Invercargill's runway 04 when the crew stopped the climb at 7000 feet MSL following a bird strike and decided to return to Invercargill. The aircraft landed safely on Invercargill's runway 04 about 25 minutes after departure.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Invercargill about 20 hours after landing back.
