An Avia Traffic Company Kyrgyzstan Boeing 737-300 on behalf of Tez Jet Airlines, registration EX-37020 performing flight
K9-117 from Bishkek to Osh (Kyrgyzstan), was climbing out of Bishkek's runway 08 when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet reporting a bird strike into the right hand engine (CFM56) as well as a burning odour in the cabin and returned to Bishkek for a safe landing on runway 08 about 20 minutes after departure.
All fan blades of the affected engine were damaged as result of the bird strike.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Bishkek about 22 hours after landing back.
The airport reported the aircraft returned due to a bird strike into one of the engines.
