AD-2661 from Ponta Grossa,PR to Sao Paulo Campinas,SP (Brazil), was climbing out of Ponta Grossa's runway 08 when the crew stopped the climb at 8000 feet after the left hand engine (PW127M) emitted a loud bang and needed to be shut down. The aircraft diverted to Curitiba for a safe landing on runway 15 about 35 minutes after departure.
The flight was cancelled.
