An Azur Air Boeing 767-300, registration VQ-BEN performing flight
ZF-556 from Varadero (Cuba) to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia) with 330 passengers and 14 crew, was accelerating for takeoff from Varadero's runway 06 when the crew rejected takeoff at high speed (about 130 knots over ground) after a flock of birds impacted the aircraft causing the right hand engine (PW4060) to emit bangs and flames. The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.
A post flight inspection also revealed damage to the aircraft's nose.
