A Batik Air Airbus A320-200, registration PK-LUT performing flight
ID-6803 from Jambi to Jakarta (Indonesia) with 117 passengers and 6 crew, had departed Jambi's runway 31 when the crew stopped the climb at 3000 feet due to problems with the nose gear. The aircraft returned to Jambi for a landing on runway 31 about 25 minutes after departure and came to a stop on the runway with the nose gear turned 90 degrees sideways and ground down. The passengers disembarked onto the runway via stairs.
The airline reported the crew received an indication of a possible technical problem.
During roll out ground observers noticed fire, sparks and smoke from the nose gear.
On Mar 11th 2021 Indonesia's KNKT reported that during climb out after departure the crew could not retract the landing gear and received a " L/G ABSORBER FAULT" fault message. The crew entered a hold to work the related ECAM actions. After completing the checklists the aircraft returned to Jambi. During the landing roll tower informed the crew about some sparks off the nose wheel. The nose wheels were found in an inproper position. Passengers and crew disembarked via stairs onto the runway. There were no injuries, the aircraft received minor damage. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated by the KNKT.
