A BAW British Airways Airbus A320-200, registration G-GATS performing flight
BA-2673 (dep Jul 14th) from Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain) to London Gatwick,EN (UK), was on approach to Gatwick's runway 08L when the crew entered a hold due to a nose wheel steering issue. The aircraft subsequently continued for a safe landing on runway 08L but became disabled on the runway.
As result 9 other flights needed to declare fuel emergency and divert.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Gatwick about 7.5 hours after landing, a number of sectors planned for Jul 15th 2026 were cancelled.
Due to works in progress the main runway 08R/26L was closed over nights.
