A BAW British Airways Boeing 777-200, registration G-VIIA performing flight BA-295 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was enroute at FL360 over the Irish Sea about 40nm south of Dublin (Ireland) when the crew initiated an emergency descent due to the loss of cabin pressure, the passenger oxygen masks were released. The aircraft levelled off at FL090 about 7 minutes later (average sinkrate 3800fpm) and returned to London Heathrow. The aircraft dumped fuel over the Irish Sea near Cardiff,WL (UK) and landed safely back on Heathrow's runway 27L about 4:05 hours after leaving FL360.
