An Air Bridge Cargo Boeing 747-8 freighter, registration VP-BJS performing flight
RU-290 from Liege (Belgium) to Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia), was climbing out of Liege's runway 23L when the crew observed problems with the slats and levelled off at FL170. The crew decided to divert to Leipzig (Germany) where the aircraft landed safely about one hour after departure.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Leipzig for about 26.5 hours before continuing to Moscow.
