A Brussels Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration OO-SSF performing flight
SN-3598 from Marseille (France) to Brussels (Belgium) with 136 passengers and 5 crew, was climbing out of Marseille's runway 13L when a bird impacted the aircraft. The crew stopped the climb at FL140 and diverted to Lyon (France) for a safe landing on runway 35L about 50 minutes after departure.
The airline reported a bird strike caused slight damage to one of the engines (CFM56). The passengers were taken to hotels and are to arrive in Brussels during Saturday (Aug 17th).
