A Calm Air Avions de Transport Regional ATR-42-300, registration C-FJYW performing flight
MO-213 from Arviat,NU to Rankin Inlet,NU (Canada) with 12 people on board, was nearing Rankin Inlet about 20nm before the airport when the crew received indication the blue hydraulic system's pressure was low. The crew worked the related checklist shut the system down, which rendered flaps, nose wheel steering and other systems inoperative. The crew declared emergency and continued for a safe landing in Rankin Inlet.
The Canadian TSB reported maintenance repaired a leak in the blue hydraulic system.
