An Air Canada Airbus A319-100, registration C-FYKR performing flight AC-992 from Mexico City (Mexico) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 85 people on board, was accelerating for takeoff from Mexico's runway 05L when the crew rejected takeoff between 60 and 70 KIAS after noticing the left hand engine (CFM56) surged. The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.
The flight was cancelled.
