An Air Canada Airbus A321-200, registration C-GJVX performing flight AC-299 from Winnipeg,MB to Vancouver,BC (Canada) with 195 passengers and 6 crew, was on final approach to Vancouver's runway 08L when the crew selected the gear down however received three red indications. The crew attempted twice to select the gear lever up and down without success and went around. During the go around the crew successfully performed a gravity gear extension and landed safely on runway 08L about 30 minutes after the go around.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance determined the landing gear lever had failed. The lever was replaced.
