An Air Caraibes Airbus A350-900, registration F-HNET performing flight
TX-570 from Paris Orly (France) to Cayenne (French Guiana), was descending through FL100 towards Cayenne deviating around a convective zone when the aircraft encountered severe turbulence causing injuries to three flight attendants. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Cayenne's runway 08.
The French BEA reported one flight attendant received serious injuries, two others minor injuries and rated the occurrence an accident. The BEA is investigating the occurrence.

During the flight and especially in the minutes preceding the accident the pilots had well identified the risk of turbulence and had applied adequate procedures by requiring all occupants including cabin crew to remain strapped in. The first areas of turbulence were thus crossed without incident. After descending through FL100, clear of clouds and thinking that the turbulence had passed the captain permitted the cabin crew in the back to finish preparing the aircraft for landing.
A few minutes later a sudden and brief turbulence caused serious injuries to two cabin crew. This turbulence was likely generated by a convective cell nearby, the crew was unable to detect or may have underestimated the distance or the extent of zone of influence.
