A Cargolux Boeing 747-400, registration LX-GCL performing flight
CV-9763 from Zhengzhou (China) to Anchorage,AK (USA), was climbing through about 6000 feet out of Zhengzhou when the crew received an engine (RB211) fire indication, stopped the climb and returned to Zhengzhou for a safe landing. Emergency services had not yet arrived at the runway at the time of the aircraft touching down.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Zhengzhou for 50 days before returning to service on Sep 16th 2021.
On Sep 28th 2021 Germany's BFU reported they have joined the investigation led by Chinese Authorities as the engine was designed in Germany. There had been an engine fire warning during climb out.
