A CarpatAir Airbus A319-100 on behalf of Baltic Air, registration YR-ABA performing flight
BT-243 from Riga (Latvia) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), was on final approach to Frankfurt's runway 25L aligned with the runway and descending through about 2000 feet MSL when ATC instructed the aircraft to swing over to runway 25C. The aircraft went off the localizer runway 25L but aligned with taxiway M, in the middle between runway 25L and 25C, which was occupied by a Lufthansa Airbus A320. The A319 went around from about 200 feet AGL, climbed to 5000 feet and positioned for another approach to runway 25L and landed on runway 25L without further incident about 20 minutes after the go around.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 105 minutes before departing for the return flight BT-244 with a delay of about 70 minutes.
