A China Eastern Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration B-6368 performing flight MU-2701 from Wuxi to Qingdao (China), was climbing out of Wuxi's runway 21 when the crew stopped the climb at 2700 meters (about 8900 feet MSL) reporting they suspected a bird strike. The aircraft entered a hold and returned to Wuxi for a safe landing on runway 21 about 40 minutes after departure.

The airline reported the aircraft needed repairs.

A replacement A321-200 registration B-6332 reached Qingdao with a delay of about 7.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Wuxi about 42 hours after landing back.
