A Delta Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration N334DN performing flight DL-2050 from Buffalo,NY to Atlanta,GA (USA), was on final approach to Atlanta's runway 09R when the crew declared Mayday, they were losing their left hand engine (CFM56). Emergency services responded, the aircraft continued for a safe landing, vacated the runway and stopped clear of the runway. The crew requested emergency services to check their left hand engine telling them they had an engine compressor stall, flight attendants reported seeing fire from the engine, they had no such indication. Emergency services reported not seeing any fire. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

The aircraft returned to service about 20.5 hours after landing.
