An Edelweiss Airbus A340-300, registration HB-JMG performing flight
WK-66 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Male (Maldives), was enroute at FL350 over Iraq when the crew descended the aircraft to FL310 due to an engine (CFM56) failure. The crew subsequently decided to divert to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) for a safe landing on runway 12L about 90 minutes after leaving FL350.
The aircraft is still on the ground about 16 hours after landing.
