An Etihad Airbus A321-200, registration A6-AEF performing flight EY-325 from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) to Dammam (Saudi Arabia), was enroute at FL260 about 70nm east of Doha (Qatar) when the crew received several abnormal indications and a left hand engine (V2533) stall indication. The crew initially declared PAN PAN and decided to divert to Doha subsequently upgrading to a Mayday about 8 minutes prior to landing. The aircraft landed safely on Doha's runway 34R about 21 minutes after leaving FL260.

Qatar's AIB reported the occurrence has been rated a serious incident and is being investigated by Qatar's AIB.
