An Ewa Air Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration F-OJZA performing flight
ZD-304 from Dzaoudzi (Mayotte) to Moroni (Comores), was enroute at FL140 about 60nm northwest of Dzaoudzi when the crew heard unusual noises in the cockpit followed by the shut down of some displays, the disconnection of the autopilot and various alerts concerning electrical failures. The crew decided to turn back to Dzaoudzi due to weather conditions at Moroni to remain in visual meteorological conditions.
France' BEA opened an investigation into the occurrence rated a serious incident and reporting, the aircraft suffered minor damage.
