An Air France Boeing 777-300, registration F-GZNT performing flight AF-5 from New York JFK,NY (USA) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), departed JFK's runway 13R when the crew reported a possible bird strike and requested a runway inspection. The aircraft stopped the climb at about 15000 feet and turned back towards JFK. The crew then declared PAN PAN. The aircraft landed on JFK's runway 22L about 25 minutes after departure, vacated the runway and stopped clear of the runway. About 30 minutes later the aircraft taxied to the apron.

The aircraft is still on the ground in New York about 16 hours after landing.
