A Garuda Boeing 737-800, registration PK-GFS performing flight GA604 from Jakarta to Makassar (Indonesia) with 141 passengers and 8 crew, was climbing out of Jakarta when the crew was informed a tyre had blown on departure. The crew continued the flight to Makassar, performed a hold, a low approach to Makassar's runway 03 and landed safely on runway 03 about 2:20 hours. The inboard right hand main tyre was found blown.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 performed the next sector.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Makassar about 18 hours after landing.
