A Horizon Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of Alaska Airlines, registration N645QX performing flight
AS-2188 from Sacramento,CA to Portland,OR (USA), was in the initial climb out of Sacramento's runway 17L when the crew stopped the climb at 2000 feet due to a bird strike into the left hand engine (CF34). The aircraft returned to Sacramento for a safe landing on runway 17L about 15 minutes after departure.
The FAA reported the "EMRABER ERJ170" "STRUCK A BIRD ON DEPARTURE DAMAGING RADOME AND #1 ENGINE, SACRAMENTO, CA."
The occurrence "Emraber"/Embraer returned to service after about 24 hours on the ground.
