An Iberia Airbus A350-900, registration EC-NBE performing flight IB-269 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Rio de Janeiro,RJ (Brazil) with 276 passengers and 13 crew, was cleared by ATC to line up runway 14 via taxiway LC and was lining up runway 14R when the crew noticed another aircraft lining up from the other side of the runway forcing them to stop.

A Wizzair UK Airbus A321-200N, registration G-WUKN performing flight W9-5356 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to London Luton,EN (UK) with 229 passengers and 9 crew, was lining up runway 14R via taxiway LA at the same time.

Spain's CIAIAC reported: "The EC-NBE aircraft had been authorized by the tower to line up on runway 14R, and upon entering it the crew observed the G-WUKN aircraft simultaneously accessing it from another access road located on the opposite side, so they were forced to stop, leaving both aircraft inside the runway. Following the incident, both aircraft completed their flights without further incident." and opened an investigation.
