An Air India Airbus A320-200N, registration VT-TNL performing flight AI-2455 from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi (India), was enroute at FL340 about 160nm west of Chennai (India) when the crew turned 90 degrees to divert to Chennai due to a malfunction of the weather radar. The aircraft entered a hold at FL120 to burn off fuel, positioned for an approach to runway 25 but went around, positioned for a second approach and landed safely on Chennai's runway 25 about 100 minutes after turning towards Chennai.
