An Indigo Airbus A321-200N, registration VT-IBN performing flight 6E-449 from Delhi to Mumbai (India), was climbing out of Delhi's runway 28 when the crew stopped the climb at 9000 feet reporting a foul odour on board. The aircraft returned to Delhi for a safe landing on runway 28 about 17 minutes after departure.

A replacement A321-200N registration VT-ICO reached Mumbai with a delay of about 2.5 hours.

The airline reported the aircraft returned due to a momentary foul odour on board.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 24 hours before returning to service.
