An Indigo Boeing 787-9, registration LN-FND performing flight
6E-4 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Delhi (India), was climbing out of London when the crew stopped the climb at FL240 declaring Mayday due to smoke on board. The aircraft returned to London for a safe landing on runway 27L about 45 minutes after departure.
The airline reported a technical issue was detected shortly after takeoff, according to standard operating procedures the crew decided to return to London.
The aircraft is still on the ground in London about 25 hours after landing back.
