MZ-201 from Amakusa to Kumamoto (Japan) with 14 people on board, was climbing out of Amakusa's runway 31 when the crew stopped the climb at 4000 feet after receiving a lightning strike. The aircraft returned to Amakusa for a safe landing on runway 31 about 25 minutes after departure.
The airline reported the aircraft was inspected, burn marks were found at the nose wheel area and on the tail of the aircraft. All flights of the aircraft until and including Mar 26th 2025 have been cancelled.
