A Jazz Aviation Canadair CRJ-900, registration C-FKJZ performing flight AC-8226 from Toronto,ON to Fredericton,NB (Canada) with 80 people on board, was on final approach to Fredricton's runway 09 when the crew initiated a go around, however, the aircraft banked left causing the left main gear and left wing tip to touch the ground before the aircraft began to climb again. The aircraft positioned for another approach and landed without further incident about 8 minutes after the go around.

Canada's TSB reported: "During the approach to Runway 09 at CYFC in visual meteorological conditions, with a reported right crosswind of 150° at 8 knots gusting to 16 knots, the flight crew initiated a go-around. During the initial part of the go-around, the aircraft banked left, the left main landing gear contacted the runway surface, and the left wingtip struck the runway. The go-around was completed; the flight crew conducted a second approach and landed on Runway 09 without further incident. The aircraft taxied to the apron. No injuries were reported. The aircraft sustained scrape damage to the left wingtip and left outer leading-edge slat. The aircraft was secured after the occurrence."

The aircraft positioned back to Toronto on Apr 30th 2026 and returned to service on May 1st 2026.
