A Jazz Canadiar CRJ-705, registration C-FLJZ performing flight QK-8568 from Vancouver,BC to Regina,SK (Canada) with 43 people, was descending towards Regina about 25nm westnorthwest of Regina when the crew received a low oil status message for the right hand engine (CF34). Oil temperature and oil pressure were normal. While continuing the descent the oil temperature increased and the oil pressure dropped. The crew shut the right hand engine down and declared emergency. The aircraft continued for a safe landing at Regina with emergency services on standby.
The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found no evidence of an oil leak, however, the accessory gear box scavenge inlet strainer was clogged with debris. The filter was cleaned, the low oil level sensor replaced and the engine test run satisfactorily. The debris was sent for further analysis.
