A KLM Airbus A321-200N, registration PH-AXL performing flight
KL-928 from Edinburgh,SC (UK) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), was on final approach to Amsterdam's runway 18R cleared to land when tower instructed the aircraft to go around. Upon query tower explained bird watch had observed a dog on the runway. The crew initiated the the dog around and climbed to 2000 feet while positioning for another approach to runway 18R. Upon being cleared to land again the crew queried whether they found the intruder, tower replied: "yes, and he is outside the gate". The aircraft landed safely about 10 minutes after the go around.
