A KLM Boeing 787-10, registration PH-BKS performing flight
KL-706 (dep Jul 26th) from Rio de Janeiro,RJ to Amsterdam (Netherlands), was on final approach to Amsterdam's runway 18R when the crew initiated a go around from about 800 feet reporting they had some problems with the flaps, the slats and the gear. The aircraft received delay vectors while working the checklists, the crew advised they were using the alternate gear extension. The crew later reported the good news they had now all gear down however now had nose wheel steering issues and needed assistance after landing. The aircraft landed safely on Amsterdam's runway 27 at a normal speed about 20 minutes after the go-around.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Amsterdam about 27 hours after landing.
