A KLM Boeing 787-10, registration PH-BKF performing flight KL-601 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Los Angeles,CA (USA), was enroute at FL320 over the Atlantic Ocean about 100nm southeast of Vagar (Faroe Islands) about 1 hour into the flight, when the crew turned the aircraft around to return to Amsterdam. About 10 minutes later the aircraft again turned around to continue the flight, but about another 2 hours later, now enroute at FL340 about 200nm northeast of Kulusuk (Greenland), the aircraft again turned around and this time returned to Amsterdam where the aircraft landed without further incident about 6.5 hours after departure.

Passengers reported all toilets on board stopped working prompting the crew to turn around, however, one toilet subsequently "decided" to work again prompting the crew to now continue the journey. That toilet however failed again prompting the return to Amsterdam.

The airline reported it became apparent that the toilets were no longer working. As this affected several toilets the aircraft returned to Amsterdam.
