An Aer Lingus Airbus A320-200, registration EI-DEI performing flight EI-876 from Cork (Ireland) to Arrecife,CI (Spain), was climbing out of Cork's runway 16 when the crew stopped the climb at FL100 and entered a hold due to problems with the landing gear. The crew subsequently decided to divert to Dublin (Ireland) maintaining FL100. The aircraft landed safely on Dublin's runway 28L about 65 minutes after departure.

The remainder of the flight as well as the return flight were cancelled.
