A Lufthansa Boeing 747-8, registration D-ABYO performing flight
LH-573 from Johannesburg (South Africa) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), was enroute at FL340 over DR Congo about 380nm northeast of Brazzaville (Congo) when the crew decided to divert to Brazzaville due to an unidentifyable smell in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely on Brazzaville's runway 23 about 50 minutes later.
The airline reported an indefinable odour in the cabin.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Brazzaville about 13 hours after landing.
