A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration 9M-MXN performing flight
MH-720 from Jakarta (Indonesia) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) with 115 passengers and 7 crew, was descending through about FL200 towards Kuala Lumpur when the crew declared emergency reporting a cargo smoke indication. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 32R about 15 minutes later.
The airline reported the aircraft taxied to a remote stand, where passengers disembarked safely while emergency services positioned around the aircraft, subsequently the forward cargo doors were opened.
The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 43 hours after landing.
