A Mavi Gok Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration TC-MGC performing flight
4M-351 from Antalya (Turkey) to Muenster (Germany) with 190 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Muenster's runway 25 but overran the end of the runway by about 10 meters/30 feet coming to a stop on the runway end safety area. The passengers disembarked onto the runway via stairs, the aircraft was subsequently pushed back and towed to the apron. The aircraft sustained damage to tyres due to damaging runway end lights.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Muenster about 21 hours after landing.
In August 2026 the BFU released their interim report summarizing the critical sequence of events:
At 21:03:59 UTC, the PM finished the Landing Checklist and shortly afterwards the PF confirmed that he saw the lighting system of runway 25.
At 21:04:20 UTC, the Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) sounded “One
thousand” and then the PF said: “Stabilized.“
The PM gave the PF more information about the cross- and head-wind.
At 21:05:03 UTC, the GPWS sounded “Five hundred” and shortly afterwards the PF deactivated the autopilot and the autothrottle.
At 21:05:28 UTC, the GPWS sounded “Minimums” and the PM said: „Continue descend“ and „Speed“. About five seconds later, the PM repeated: “Continue descend.“
At 21:05:52 UTC, the aircraft touched down on runway 25 and the PM exclaimed: “Speedbrake, reversers, manual brake.“
At 21:05 UTC, the aircraft touched down with a landing mass of 62,790 kg about 250 m beyond the touch-down zone of runway 25.
According to the Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) parameters, the thrust reverses and the ground spoilers were extended. The PF activated the brakes manually.
The aircraft decelerated and overshot the runway end. At 21:06:14 UTC, it came to a stop on the paved area, the clearway.
After the full stop on the clearway, on the CVR recording it can be heard that the two pilots were talking about the need to perform a go-around procedure.
The passengers disembarked the aircraft via mobile stairs on the clearway. Afterwards, the aircraft was towed onto the apron with a tow truck.
