An Air Nostrum Canadair CRJ-1000 on behalf of Iberia, registration EC-MJP performing flight
IB-2435 from Ibiza,SP to Valencia,SP (Spain) with 82 passengers and 5 crew, was on approach to Valencia's runway 12 on downwind maintaining 6000 feet when ATC instructed the crew to descend to 3700 feet. While descending to 3700 feet the crew received a GPWS alert, climbed back to 6000 feet, continued the approach, intercepted the localizer runway 12 and landed safely about 8 minutes after the GPWS alert.
Spain's CIAIAC opened an investigation into the occurrence.
