A PAL Express Airbus A320-200 on behalf of Philippine Airlines, registration RP-C8619 performing flight PR-2203 from Manila to Roxas City (Philippines), was climbing through about 3000 feet out of Manila's runway 31 when the crew requested to stop the climb at 5000 feet due to a bird strike. The aircraft returned to Manila for a safe landing on runway 06 about 15 minutes after departure.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Manila about 17 hours after landing back.
