A Pascan Aviation Saab 340B, registration C-GANR performing flight
P6-478 from Iles de la Madeleine,QC to Gaspe,QC (Canada) with 11 passengers and 3 crew, was enroute when the crew noticed problems with the de-icing system and considering the weather conditions decided to divert to Quebec City,QC (Canada). About 30nm from Mont Joli,QC (Canada) at FL160 the right hand engine (CT7) stopped without any indication or fluctuation. The crew declared PAN PAN and diverted to Mont Joli without attempting to restart the right hand engine due to proximity of the airport. The aircraft landed safely.
The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found a fault during the auto-ignition test. The right hand engine's digital electronic control unit (DCEU) was replaced.
