A Porter Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GKQF performing flight
PD-2722 from Washington Dulles,DC (USA) to Toronto City,ON (Canada) with 70 people on board, was enroute at FL240 about 75nm south of Hamilton,ON (Canada) when the crew observed the #2 HYD ISO VLV M/C to illuminate. The #2 hydraulic fluid was showing zero quantity. The crew declared PAN PAN and diverted to Hamilton for a safe landing on runway 30 about 35 minutes later.
The Canadian TSB reported the leak originated at the EDP suction line union, which was found loose. Hydraulic engine drive pump #2 and #2 hydraulic filters were replaced.
