A Republic Airways Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N124HQ performing flight
AA-4831 from Indianapolis,IN to New York JFK,NY (USA), was climbing through 11,000 feet out of Indianapolis when the crew stopped the climb and requested and received an immediate clearance to descend to 10,000 feet. The crew subsequently decided to return to Indianapolis advising ATC they had a pressurization issue. The aircraft positioned for an approach to runway 23R but needed to go around, the crew stated they turned in a bit too tight, positioned for another approach to runway 23R and landed safely about 35 minutes after departure.
The aircraft returned to service about 14.5 hours after landing.
