A Royal Jordanian Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration JY-AYN performing flight RJ-404 from Beirut (Lebanon) to Amman (Jordan), was climbing out of Beirut when the crew stopped the climb at FL300 and decided to return to Beirut for a safe landing on runway 03 about 40 minutes after departure.

The airport reported that a cargo alarm bell sounded prompting the crew to return to Beirut, the alarm was identified to have been false. The aircraft would depart again as soon as the safety measures ordered by Lebanese Authorities have been fulfilled: unload all cargo and passenger luggage, which would be taken to Amman on another aircraft the following day.

The occurrence aircraft departed Beirut as flight RJ-404 with the passengers but without their luggage about 2 hours after landing.
