A Ryanair Boeing 737-8 MAX, registration EI-HGF performing flight FR-7072 from Dublin (Ireland) to Porto (Portugal), was climbing out of Dublin's runway 10R when the crew stopped the climb at FL070 reporting they could not retract the landing gear and decided to return to Dublin for a safe landing on runway 10R about 30 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported the crew advised they could not retract the landing gear.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration EI-DLE reached Porto with a delay of 3.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Dublin about 21 hours after landing back.
