A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-EKD performing flight FR-4157 from Cork (Ireland) to Alicante,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Cork's runway 16 when the crew stopped the climb at FL250 and decided to divert to London Stansted,EN (UK), where the aircraft landed safely about 80 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration EI-EKF reached Alicante with a delay of 2:45 hours.

The airline reported a "minor bird strike" prompted the diversion to Stansted.
