As every year, despite all the Corona Pandemic, the FAA once again required Santa to pass his annual flight test before receiving the overflight permits for his sleigh on holy eve. The elves and Santa therefore prepared the sleigh for the flight test, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder, Blixem as well as Rudolph had taken their positions and were ready to depart. However, the FAA inspector was nowhere to be seen.
Finally the inspector arrived running, out of breath, the tongue hanging out of his mouth, and he gasped, we can't do the test today, severe hail is forecast all around the region and all over the USA, a hail strike was certain to occur!
Santa smiled, instructed the inspector to take his seat, the reindeer pulled off and the sleigh took off. Over the worries about the hail strike the inspector even forgot his annual routine, no engine was lost in the departure, and he expected any time that the reindeer and the sleigh would be hit by hail and crash, so he took the brace position throughout the flight. The sleigh landed safely back after the briefed flight routine, in disbelief the inspector looked up, they were still in one piece with no damage whatsoever. "What happened?" the inspector asked. Santa replied: "You were absolutely right, the hail was on strike!"
It doesn't need mention that this year my Santa is named differently, namely Sarah, who joined me for Christmas and New Year in Salzburg after a lot of worries that her trip might fail once again in last minute due to the new Omikron variant and associated travel restrictions. And no, before anybody asks, no test ride was required for Sarah. But didn't she arrive in Salzburg on Santa's Boeing 320 Regional Jungle Jet (see: Santa B20J at North Pole on Dec 24th 2018, rejected takeoff due to lack of navi and Santa SSLH at North Pole on Dec 24th 2019, engine not shot down in flight)? Sarah and I wish everybody a very merry Christmas and a phantastic, healthy and happy 2022.
