A SAS Scandinavian Airlines Airbus A320-200N, registration SE-RUC performing flight SK-4417 from Tromso to Oslo (Norway), was accelerating for takeoff from Tromso's runway 19 when the crew rejected takeoff at low speed (about 55 knots over ground) after the aircraft veered sharply towards the right edge of the runway. The crew rejected takeoff, was able to regain directional control, steered the aircraft back to the centerline without exiting the runway and subsequently returned to the apron.

The flight was cancelled. The aircraft is still on the ground in Tromso about 26 hours after the rejected takeoff.

The airline reported the aircraft was caught by strong crosswinds and was pulled to the side of the runway.

Later the day another A20N suffered a lightning strike on approach, see Incident: SAS A20N at Tromso on Feb 12th 2023, lightning strike followed by loss of thrust.
