A Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration HZ-AK11 performing flight SV-728 from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to Islamabad (Pakistan), was on approach to Islamabad's runway 28R but lined up for runway 28L, which had been closed earlier the day due to work in progress. ATC instructed the crew to go around, the crew complied and initiated the missed approach at about 1000 feet AGL, climbed to 5000 feet, positioned for another approach and landed safely on runway 28R about 15 minutes after the go around.

Pakistan's Airport Authority confirmed the occurrence stating that the air traffic controller issued a go around instruction. An investigation has been opened.
